Crock Pot Beef Stew

Source: (I believe) Canadian Living Magazine (online recipes)

2 lb stewing beef (cubed pieces of meat)

4 or 5 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks

3 carrots, peeled and cut into thick slices

1 onion, cut into wedges

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 bay leaf

1 1/2 cups beef broth (I use 2 packets of Bovril dissolved in 1.5 cups water)

1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 small can tomato paste (5 oz)

Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker. Set on LOW for 10-12 hours. You can also add some frozen peas in the last half hour, and some flour if you want to thicken up the stew a bit, but it will be tasy on its own without this stuff. And really, the point is to have the least amount of work to do when you get home at the end of the day, right?
